College Magazine

This is my final front cover of my college magazine, I have followed the conventions of my last magazine by putting the headline and other things such as the sell lines, image, and skyline in the correct places as they were in my flat plan. As I said on the development of my front cover that my colour scheme will be black and yellow. Even though I used the colours blue and green. I consistently used the same font style throughout my magazine, this created synergy in my magazine and that is good. My main story and the headline on my front cover "St. Peters hits big!" and I have put a slant on this headline, there reason in this is that the target audience would be students, and since I am a student I like things with a bit of a change, do not like all of the text on the page to be black and white and formal, have a bit of a change. I have also spread out the sell lines out on the page, the reason in this is that if I did not I would have to much deadspace, and that is not what I want on my front cover. In fact if I was better at photoshop I would develop my front cover and use more images and text to have less deadspace. I would also and should have a glow around my masthead and headline, yet on photoshop when I went to do this, I could not complete what I wanted to do.

This is the final contents page for my college magazine. I have followed the layout of my flat plan in majority of cases, apart from the lines, in my flat plan they are curved and again my inexperience in photoshop cost me in my magazine not following the same conventions as my flat plan, but that is all. I have my photo of the male holding two objects up and not having direct gaze with the reader, he is also in the correct position and with all the right text there, and the headline placed directly above him, this informs the reader what the headline is and where they will find it. I feel like there is to much deadspace within in my contents page, and this could not be avoided as I could not do curved lines I had to fit all the stories within the odd amount of space, and then there was not a sufficient amount of space for anymore stories. And if I did decide to put more stories on there I feel like it would have been to cramped and would appear to unprofessional and untidy. The same font style as my front cover follows the conventions of having synergy throughout the contents page and will be easier for my reader to feel connected to the magazine and easier to understand/read.
